Andalusia’s Halloween on the Square will become Halloween Trick-or-Treat Trail at Springdale this year.
The City of Andalusia will host the trick-or-treat event for children ages 12 and under from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sat., Oct. 31, 2015.
Department of Leisure Services program director Caitlin Shipman said children, who must be accompanied by an adult, will enter the park at the gate and will be stamped as they enter.
“They must have a stamp to receive candy,” she said. “Then they will follow the trail.”
Shipman said the event is being moved because there needed to be some changes.
Just as with the Halloween event on the Square, area merchants, organizations or churches are invited to participate. They can call 334-222-2714 to verify participation and order candy.
Children should have a trick-or-treat bag (no pillow cases), and bags will be available on site for those who don’t bring one. No smoking is allowed in the park area.
Special needs children of all ages are welcome to participate, Shipman said.
