CCB takes top spot in UA Alumni Golf Tournament

More than 40 golfers showed up to participate in the 17th annual Alabama Alumni Scholarship Golf Tournament at the Andalusia Country Club on Monday afternoon, and Team CCB finished in first place in the first flight.

The tournament is played every year to raise money for eight scholarships that are given out to Covington County students that plan to attend the University of Alabama.

Team CCB picked up the first place finish with a score of 58.

Bill Rabren, Sonny James and Steve Barlow finished in second place in the first flight with a final score of 60.

Hook’s BBQ’s team of Whitney Jones and Aaron Barton finished third in the first flight with a score of 62.

Preston Weaver, Barry Champion and Justin Lawhorn tied for fourth place with CDG’s team of Kevin Hall, Tim Ramsden and Jeff Harrison. Both teams finished with a score of 63.

Covington Electric’s team of Ricky Smith, Mark Parker and Andy Willis rounded out the first flight with a score of 66.

In the second flight, PowerSouth’s team of Bubba Evers, Len Jones and finished first with a score of 62.

AirTek’s team of John Wells, John Roberts and John Barry Roberts finished second after a playoff with a score of 63.

Darby’s team of Martin Clifton, John Dubose and William Alverson finished third after a playoff with a score of 63.
