Looking for some family fun this week?
The Covington Arts Council will present The Willis Clan on Thursday at the LBWCC Dixon Center at 7 p.m.
The group is labeled a multi-talented family band of 12 siblings performing a blend of Celtic, gospel, bluegrass and pop sound unique to them.
CAC director Paula Harr said the group performed on America’s Got Talent, won NBC’s Sound of Music Family Award and has their own reality show on TLC.
“They are an amazing family,” she said. “I say they are like the Powells – Roger and Cathy – they can do anything. The children are trained in everything from ballet to hip-hop, and they can draw, do the graphic arts, photography and more.”
Harr said the group originally began as a dance troupe and hold an impressive bevy of awards and titles in multiple dance styles.
Additionally, Harr said the family has brought home 16 state championships in wrestling.
“They are a really cute, Christian family,” she said. “This is going to be a great night.”
Harr said it’s the opening production for the new season.
Advanced tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and are available at Harold’s and the Andalusia Star-News in Andalusia and at Young’s Florist in Opp.
Harr said tickets for adults increase to $18 at the door, but remain $10 for students.
Season tickets are also available for $55 for adults and $30 for students.
A family package is $125 and includes two general admission tickets and two student tickets.
