It was another outstanding showing for the eight members of Andalusia Isshinryu Karate that competed in the Gulf Coast Martial Arts Championship in Crestview, Fla., recently.

The eight members from Andalusia Isshinryu Karate competed in weapons, forms and fighting divisions for their age and belt rank.

Picking up right where they left off from the last tournament, the Andalusia members racked up 15 first place finishes. The students won seven of the eight kata divisions entered and six out of seven fighting divisions. In weapons, Andalusia students were only out placed by their own teammates.

Results for the entire team are as follows:

Konnor Owens picked up two first place finishes in green belt kata and green belt fighting. Owens also finished second in colored belt weapons.

Kila Owens garnered three first place trophies as she finished tops in colored belt weapons, brown belt kata and brown belt fighting.

Landon Caldwell notched two first place finishes in brown belt fighting and brown belt kata.

Dalton Spears got a first place finish in brown belt kata, and finished third in colored belt weapons.
