1017-Jay-Cox-imagination-library

Jay Cox, 4, pauses to read while visiting the Kiwanis Covington County Fair on Thursday. Jay has received a book in the mail each month of his life, thanks to Covington County’s Imagination Library, which provides a free book to every child born here until he or she enters kindergarten. He is the son of Adrienne and Bryan Cox of Andalusia. His mom said Jay so enjoys receiving books that he asks every day if he has mail. The local Imagination Library currently mails books to 750 children in the county each month. Today’s fair highlights include a cake decorating contest at 3:30 p.m.; the Straughn String Band at 5 p.m.; a demolition derby at 6 p.m.; and the Whatley Street First Baptist Church Chorus at 8 p.m.
