Sandra Faye Rolling

Sandra Faye Rolling of Andalusia, Ala., passed away Oct. 21, 2015, on a beautiful fall day at the Andalusia Regional Hospital following a long illness. Mrs. Rolling was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved flowers, feeding her birds, and loved spending time with her family. Mrs. Rolling was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil M. Rolling, and her son, Larry Wayne Rolling.

She is survived by daughter, Gail and Mike Aplin of Marbury, Ala.; daughter, Patricia and Didge Lawson of Pleasant Home; son, Jerry and Rosa Rolling of Troy; daughter, Sandra and Dale Martin of Andalusia; son, Terry and Peggy Rolling of Grove Hill; son, Philip and Hope Rolling of Rome, Ga.; and daughter, Donna and Todd Sasser of Rose Hill. She has 24 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Foreman-Brown Funeral Home will provide public viewing from 5: 30 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Thurs., Oct. 22, 2015.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Fri., Oct. 23, 2015, at Foreman Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Boles and

Bro. Bobby Morgan officiating. Interment will follow at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

Mom – God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So he put his arms around you and whispered, “Come to Me.”

Henry Edward Morgan

Mr. Henry Edward Morgan, 72, of Andalusia, passed away Tues., Oct. 20, 2015, at his residence.

A visitation will be held from 5:30 – 8 p.m. Thurs., Oct. 22, 2015, at Foreman Funeral Home

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann Morgan of Andalusia; son, Michael E. Morgan of Montgomery; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Lester Ingram of Andalusia; daughter-in-law, Teresa Dorsey of Andalusia; grandchildren, Paton Alexandria Morgan, Hunter Cauley, Leslie Ingram, Austin Ingram, and Alora Morgan; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Paul Norris of Andalusia; nieces, Tabitha (John) Sasser, Christy (Adam) Turner, and Stephanie Dubose; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by parents, Henry and Mary Morgan, and son, Randy Morgan.

James Rodney Bobo

Mr. James Rodney Bobo, age 76, of Andalusia, passed away Mon., Oct. 19, 2015, in Dothan.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Thurs., Oct. 22, 2015, in the Keahey Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. Roger Mims will officiate. Interment will follow at Stone Lake Gardens with military honors and Keahey Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his sons, James Homer (Rena) Bobo of Opp, Charles Bobo, Sr. and Charlotte Berry of Opp; daughters, Deena Bobo (Eugene) Rogers of Opp and Teresa Bobo (Gary) Floyd of Andalusia; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Levi Roy ( Dorothy) Bobo of Minniville, Tenn., Richard Dean (Miriam) Bobo of West Jefferson, Ohio, and Larry H. (Beverly) Bobo of Sterling, Ohio; sisters, Betty Jean Summers of Tipton, In., Jo Ann Bowen of Columbus, Ohio, Brenda Lou (Gary) Slawson of Dublin, Ohio, Sandra Kay (Roy) Duncan of London, Ohio, Sharon Sue Elliott, and Terry Mansfield of Denver, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Bobo was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nancy Carol Puckett Bobo; his mother, Tressie Caroline Penwell Gossard; and his father, Levi Roy Bobo, Sr.

 

Dorothy Martin Simpler

Mrs. Dorothy Martin Simpler, born Aug. 13, 1927, passed away on Mon., Oct. 19, 2015.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Thurs., Oct. 22, 2015, at Cedar Grove Church of Christ on Brooklyn Road. Foreman Funeral Home will be directing, Minister Jeff Grimes will officiate the service with interment following in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Grove Church of Christ.

Mrs. Simpler proudly served her community as a Red Cross Gray Lady hospital volunteer and a longtime member of the Andalusia Pilot Club. She was a founding member of the South Three Notch Church of Christ (now Central) and was a current member of Cedar Grove Church of Christ. She was the manager of Baxter’s Shoe Store in downtown Andalusia until its closing.

She was the loving wife of Fred Simpler from June 1949 until his death in August 2013.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane Simpler Black and her husband, Dennis, of Jasper; a son, Miland Fredrick Simpler, Jr. and wife, Lyn, of Birmingham, eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; sisters, Myrtle (Joe) Stowers of Greenville, and Louise Lepore of Bedford, N.Y.; a brother, Horace Martin of Greenville; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by the love of her life, Fred Simpler, Sr., and her parents, H.D. and Ola Beverly Martin.

A. C. Godwin

Mr. A. C. Godwin, 82, of Red Level, passed away Mon., Oct. 19, 2015, in the Andalusia Manor.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today, Thurs., Oct. 22, 2015, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Tyler Ingram officiating. Interment will follow in Buck Creek Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Godwin of Red Level; three sons. Tommy (Sharon) Godwin of Andalusia, Rickey Godwin of Altoona, Ala., and Tim (Donna) Godwin of Red Level; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sylvia Carnley of Andalusia.

He is preceded in death by two children, Virginia Diane Hendrix and Johnny Ray Godwin.

Pallbearers will be Todd Godwin, Adam Godwin, Colby Godwin, Michael Norman, Blakely Ward, Greg Bush, Gene Proctor.
