An Alabama Department of Transportation resurfacing project on Opp Bypass from east of U.S. Hwy. 84 to south of Bellmont Road is scheduled to begin on Monday.

There will be lane closures throughout the project.  A reduced speed limit of 45 mph will be in effect throughout the construction zone. Motorists are urged to use caution when traveling through the construction zone and expect delays.

The $3,768,825.65 contract was awarded to Wiregrass Construction Company, Inc., out of Dothan, who had the lowest bid that met project requirements. The contract allows for 85 working days.

ALDOT’s mission is to provide a safe, efficient, environmentally sound transportation network across Alabama. For further information, visit www.dot.state.al.us.
