Thirty-six mayors of cities and towns throughout Alabama’s 2nd Congressional District Tuesday endorsed U.S. Rep. Martha Roby for reelection to Congress.

Citing her support of their local communities and nearby military installations like Fort Rucker and Maxwell Air Force Base, the mayors offered their “support, encouragement, and full endorsement” for Rep. Roby’s reelection campaign.

Among the mayors signing the letter of support were several from Covington County, including:

Earl Johnson, Mayor of Andalusia

Chris Caldwell, Mayor of Babbie

Jim Garner, Mayor of Carolina

Robert Williamson, Mayor of Florala

Judy Baker, Mayor of Heath

Eugene Birge, Mayor of Lockhart

John Bartholomew, Mayor of Opp

Willie Hendrix, Mayor of Red Level

Patricia Gunter, Mayor of River Falls

Chris Thomasson, Mayor of Sanford

Roby, who is running for reelection in the Republican Primary on March 1, thanked the mayors for their overwhelming show of support.
