Friday night the Florala will look to send their senior football players out with a win when the Wildcats (1-7, 0-6) host the J.F. Shields Panthers (0-7,0-6) for senior night.
It hasn’t quite been the season that the Wildcats would have liked, but on Friday night they will have a chance to get on more win for outgoing seniors.
Florala has won three of the previous four contests between the Wildcats and the Panthers, including a 64-14 win last year.
Florala has had a fairly strong offense this year behind the leadership of senior quarterback Avery McNeill and senior running back Elijah Patrick.
On offense, the Wildcats have put up 118 points.
The Wildcats’ defense has allowed 408 points this season.
The Panthers have struggled mightily this season on both sides of the ball, with the defense giving up 54 points per game and the offense has scored just 8 points.
J.F. Shields got their first points of the season last week when in a 60-8 loss to Marengo.
Last week, the Wildcats fell in a Class 1A, Region 2 match to Kinston, 46-6.
Kickoff between the Wildcats and the Panthers will begin at 7 p.m., Friday at Matthews Stadium.
