Horse riders, get ready.

The ninth annual Special Needs Benefit Trail Ride sponsored by the Covington Cowgirls Drill Team is set for Nov. 11 at the Geneva State Forest.

Two rides will be available – one at 9 a.m. and the other at 1 p.m.

Sign up will start at 8 a.m., at the lake.

A donation of $10 per rider or $25 per family is requested.

“We are very excited about the upcoming trail ride,” said Tricia Courson of the drill team. “We look forward to being able to ride and raise money for a wonderful cause – the special needs students in Covington County schools.”

Courson said the team receives a wish list from special needs teachers, which includes items that is not funded by the schools and they help purchase what is needed.

Lunch will be provided by the drill team.

“The drill team cooks up all kinds of soups and stews for a real good lunch that everyone seems to enjoy as well,” she said. “This time of year the forest is really beautiful with all the fall color.”

Courson said anyone who wishes to donate to the cause can send a check to Covington County Drill Team P.O. Box 745, Andalusia AL 36420

Please specify special needs on your check.
