The family of Cooper Sasser knows too well what’s like to have a 2-year-old fighting cancer, but they also know what it’s like to get the good news that the cancer is gone.
Family and friends supported the Sassers through their journey, and now they are passing along the support to Kellen Findley, a 2-year-old fighting embroynal rhabdomysosarcoma.
Embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma (ERMS) is a rare histological form of cancer of connective tissue wherein the mesenchymally-derived malignant cells resemble the primitive developing skeletal muscle of the embryo. It is the most common soft tissue sarcoma occurring in children.
“He is currently receiving chemotherapy in Birmingham but will have to be transferred to MD Anderson in Houston, Texas, to receive radiation,” Christy Sasser said.
To help bring joy to Kellen, they have organized Cards for Kellen.
“Kellen’s birthday is Jan. 3 and it is amazing how a little card can put such a big smile on a child’s face,” she said.
Sasser said they are asking everyone to put a $1 in a card and mail is to:
Tater’s Troops
P.O. Box 154, Andalusia, AL 36420
“The card can be a get well card, Christmas card or a birthday card,” she said. “All proceeds will go to help Kellen’s family with his care,” she said. “Please encourage your church, women or men’s group, organizations, youth groups and everyone you know to send a card to brighten Kellen’s day and show him your love and support.”
