Andalusia High School has an opportunity to win $100,000, but the public’s help is needed to make that a reality.

The Peer Helpers organized several fun things to coincide with State Farm’s 2N2 competition, and they have made a video with the DuBose twins – Riley and Bryce – and State Farm agent Sharyn Smith, which features different activities students have participated in.

They made the first round of judging and are in the second round.

Peer Helper Sponsor Charlotte Spurlin said State Farm divided the competition into large and small high schools. AHS falls into the small high school division.

Spurlin said Drive 2N2 means 2 eyes on the road and 2 hands on the wheels.

Twenty-two high school submissions receiving the most votes will win a $100,000 grant.

The grand prize winner will receive a private concert from Echosmith.

The community’s help is needed to vote.

Voting started Monday and will continue through Nov. 13.

Spurlin said that $22,000 of the money would have to be spent in support of a teen drive safety program to benefit the high school students. She said the would use some money to update the parking area, as well as start a broadcasting program.
