Rainfall totals still below last year

There has been a good deal less rain in Covington County this year than last, according to rainfall totals recorded by the Choctawhatchee, Pea and Yellow Rivers Watershed Management Authority.

In October, the Choc-Pea Authority measured 2.24 inches of rain at the Yellow River Bridge on Hwy. 55, as compared to 3.2 inches of rain there in October of 2014.

Year to date, there has been 46.98 inches of rain recorded there, as opposed to 54.62 inches in the same period last year.

The average monthly rainfall of all gauges used by the Choc Pea system, show a total of 42.08 inches for the year, compared to 49.37 inches last year.
