James Walden Grissett

Mr. James Walden Grissett, 83, of Andalusia, passed away Wed., Nov. 18, 2015, in a Pensacola hospital.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Fri., Nov. 20, from Southside Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary Miller and the Rev. Alan Harp officiating. Interment will follow in Judson Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. prior to services at the church.

He is survived by his wife, Gail Maddox Grissett of Andalusia; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Ken Raines of Andalusia; sons and daughter-in-law, Jimmy Grissett, Kenny and Vickie Grissett all of Andalusia; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Thomas Grissett of River Falls; and sister, Diana Harp of Brewton.

Mr. Grissett was preceded in death by his sisters, Marlene Fryer and Thera Brogden, and brother, Max Grissett.

Pallbearers will be Mike Grissett, Andy Harp, Thomas Harp, Tommy Grissett, Bobby Grissett, Phil Grissett, and Hiram Brogden.

Lee David Sullivan

Mr. Lee David Sullivan, 96, of Andalusia, passed away Tues., Nov. 17, 2015, in the Andalusia Manor Nursing facility.

Mr. Sullivan was born in Florida on May 2, 1919, to Charles and Lula Thompson Sullivan. He is a member of what is now known as the “greatest generation,” having served in WWII in the U.S. Army, where he received a Purple Heart. Later, along with his late brother, C. J. Sullivan, the two found and ran the Sullivan Furniture Company for many years.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. today, Fri., Nov. 20, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Fred Karthaus and the Rev. Willie Williams officiating the service. Interment will follow in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Charlee and Benny Dunn of Andalusia; his grandsons, Jacob (Summer) Dunn and Jeffery Dunn; two great-grandchildren, Cassidy Dunn and Brayden Dunn; a step-daughter, Jennifer Lawrence; and stepson and daughter-in-law, Lamar and Peggy Hurley; five step-grandchildren, Chris Lawrence, Joey Hurley, Melissa Rhodes, Jason Hurley, and Amanda Miles; seven step-great-grandchildren; and three step-great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Sammy Brown, Bill Ellis, Jim Boswell, Bill Carter, Bill Rabren, and Jimmy Peterson.
