Shirley Mae Kohler

Shirley Mae Kohler, age 84, of Elba, passed away Mon., Nov. 2, 2015, at Andalusia Manor.

A celebration of her life service will be held at Basin Baptist Church on Sun., Nov. 29, 2015, beginning at 2 p.m. with Dr. Sam Self officiating.

Funeral services and burial took place in Jackson Township, N.J., where she will be laid to rest beside her late husband John H. Kohler II.

Mrs. Kohler is survived by her daughters, Betty (Sam) Cooper of Elba, Kelley (Jimmy) Faulkner of Andalusia, and Shirley (John) Petrella, of Perrineville, N.J.; son, John H. (Nancy) Kohler, III, Toms River, N.J.; son-in-law, Mike Harding, Osceola Mills, Pa.; brother, Frank Clayton, California; and sister Valerie (John) Kuriger of New Brockton.

Other survivors include 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband John H. Kohler II; a daughter, Bonnie Harding; and her parents, Elizabeth and Ellis Clayton; and a grandson, John Petrella.. Hayes Funeral Home of Elba is serving the Kohler family.

 

ANNIE R. BALLARD

Mrs. Annie R. Ballard, 63, of Andalusia passed away Wed., Nov. 25, 2015, at the Andalusia nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Sat., Nov. 28, 2015, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Frankie McVay will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday one hour prior to services. Burial will follow in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include her husband, Marcus Pete Ballard of Andalusia; one son, Marcus “Bubba” Ballard of Troy; one daughter, Lynn Thurman of Enterprise; one brother, Willie (Mary) Kennedy of Lakeland, Fla.; one sister, Shirley Kennedy of Phenix City, Ala.; grandchildren, Kayla (Bradley) Lee of Red Level, and Sandy “Bobo” McVay of Gantt.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Missy Ballard in 2008.

Serving as pallbearers will be Wesley Boyd, Bobo McVay, Bubba Ballard, Sandy “Bobo” McVay and Bradley Lee.

 

Mrs. Gercile Spears

Mrs. Gercile Spears, age 79, of Opp passed away Thurs., Nov. 26, 2015. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced at a later time by Keahey Funeral Home.

 

Nancy Rose Conforti

Nancy Rose Conforti, age 102, of Andalusia, passed away peacefully at her home on Wed., Nov. 25, 2015.

Funeral services will be held on Sat., Nov. 28, 2015, at 3 p.m. from Foreman Funeral Home with the Rev. Antony Pullukattu Xavier (Fr. Tony), pastor of Christ the King Catholic Church officiating. Interment will follow in Stone Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Survivors include her children, Cynthia Schoedinger of Hialeah, Fla., Michael (Ellen) Conforti of Thomasville, Ga., and Janice Bracewell of Andalusia; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; brother, Louis Miele of Hudson, MA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dominic Conforti; two sisters, Rose Dello Cono and Josephine Nucci; and two sons-in-law, Joe Taylor Bracewell and Edward Schoedinger.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons, Alan Bracewell, Tim Bracewell, Victor Bracewell, Kenneth Bracewell, Chad Bracewell, and Justin Bracewell.
