Opportunity EMS’s 60-day dispatch suspension with Covington County E-911 is up, but the ambulance service won’t be dispatched.

E-911 board attorney said Tuesday that E-911 director Kristi Stamnes notified the company their suspension was up, but they declined to go back on rotation.

“They decided they didn’t want to get back on the rotation,” Ryan said.

In October, the E-911 board made the decision to suspend the company for 60 days after the ambulance company admitted to responding to a motorcycle accident involving an off-duty police officer with a basic life support unit, when it was a Code 3, which means that paramedics are required.
