The chancel choir of Andalusia First United Methodist Church will present its Christmas cantata, “Cradle the King” by Steve Adams at 11 a.m. this Sun., Dec. 6.

The Rev. Dr. Jason Thrower, pastor of First United Methodist Church, will narrate, and the choir will be accompanied by an 11-piece orchestra.

Choir director Paula Sue Duebelt said Louisa Baker will be at the piano, and there are four guest instrumentalists coming from Troy; two from Prattville; one from Montgomery; and three local.

Soloists include Chris Reynolds, Olivia Ennis, John Beasley, Sharon Hobson, Mark Gable, Ruby Roberts, Katie King, and Dr. Mike Wells.

The production also include the children’s choir.

“This is the third time we’ve done this cantata,” Duebelt said. “The music is glorius. It is a meaningful, beautiful work, and obviously, we’re very fond of it.”
