The Andalusia Lady Bulldogs picked up their first win of the season Friday night in Andalusia with a 53-38 victory over the Opp Lady Bobcats.

Andalusia started the game strong and held a 12-7 lead at the end of the first period.

In the second period, the Lady Bobcats inched closer, but trailed 23-19 at halftime.

Sharpshooting and strong pressure helped the Lady Bulldogs mount a 37-24 heading into the final from and strong push at the finish lifted the Lady Bulldogs to a win.

“We shot the ball better and executed the better in the second half,” Andalusia head coach Brad Garner said. “We didn’t have very many easy shots in the first half, but when we started executing in the second half it opened up some easier looks. Keeping pressure on them defensively really helped out their at the end to get us some turnovers and extend the lead. Tonight, we were better on all fronts. Now we just have to keep getting better with each game.”
