Don’t worry about cooking Saturday morning breakfast this morning. The Pilot Club of Andalusia has you covered.

Their annual pancake and sausage day is from 5:30 a.m. until noon.

Mellisa King of the Pilot Club said they are preparing to serve more than 1,000 people this morning with their made-from-scratch pancakes.

To pull off such a feat, King said they have ordered 50 dozen eggs, 35 gallons of orange juice and 40 gallons of milk.

The crew was busy Friday afternoon preparing for this morning’s feast.

The event will be held at the Kiwanis Community Center. Cost is $7 for an all-you-can eat breakfast, and tickets are available at the door.

King said the proceeds go to benefit the many charities in Covington County the Pilot Club helps sponsor.

“There’s a long list that we give to in the community,” she said. “The main thing we do is partner with the sheriff’s department on Project Lifesaver.”

Project Lifesaver donates free personalized wristbands with radio transmitters to individuals who are considered at risk for wandering.

Additionally, the Pilot Club of Andalusia joins with the Luncheon Pilot Club to purchase helmets for the children who receive bicycles at the annual Andalusia Community Christmas.
