Opp Council completes advanced training

The entire Opp City Council has completed its advanced training to become certified municipal officers.

Council member Bobby Ray Owens had previously completed his.

Council members Mike Booth, Mary Brundidge and Arlin Davis recently received their award designations.

Council member T.D. Morgan has completed the training and will receive his commendation at the next awards ceremony.

Opp Mayor John Bartholomew said officials from the League of Municipalities commented that this council was only group to have gone through basic and advanced training in two years.

Bartholomew said that usually it takes council members four to eight years to get advanced certification.
