Henry Rifles has created 42 rifles to help a local boy battling cancer.
Two-year-old Kellen Findley of Dozier was diagnosed in the fall with embroynal rhabdomyosarcoma, and will require 42 cancer treatments.
Embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma (ERMS) is a rare form of cancer of connective tissue. It is the most common soft tissue sarcoma occurring in children.
Kellen’s uncle, Jay, a fan of Henry Rifles, reached out to company president Anthony Imperato, who immediately responded by donating the 42 Henry Gold Boy “Fight Like A Kid” tribute edition .22 caliber rifles.
The guns will all carry the “Fight Like A Kid” laser engraving on the buttstock and will have special serial numbers – KELLEN01-KELLEN42.
Jay Findley said a couple of the rifles were donated for an auction on gunbroker.com.
The auction features a $420 opening bid and a buy now price of $4,200.
“We have been continually amazed by the generosity and devotion to helping others that has been show by America’s gun owners, particularly the more than 3 million dedicated gunbroker.com users,” Imperato said.
Jay Findley said those who wish to purchase guns can call his brother, at 334-368-1636.
