Those who haven’t paid their portion of this year’s property taxes have until 5 p.m., Thursday to do so without penalty.

Additionally, the Revenue Commissioner’s office will be closed on New Year’s Day.

“We can take payments over the phone with a debit or credit card. There is a 3 percent charge that the processing company will charge you. The only card the processing company will not take is American Express,” said Revenue Commissioner Chuck Patterson. “If your payment is postmarked by Dec. 31, we will process without any penalties.”
