There is a chance that rains could dampen planned New Year’s activities in Andalusia tonight, city officials said weather-related decisions will not be made before tonight.

If weather permits, the City of Andalusia will again ring in the New Year with a domino drop at midnight.

Festivities are set to begin at 10:30 p.m. on the Court Square. Area band DRUNKen CHICKen will perform; the Candyland houses will be open for children to play, and fireworks will follow the domino drop at midnight.

Traffic will be blocked off at the Square.

Refreshments will not be available on the Square, but a block away, Joe’s Barista will be open for New Year’s Eve, and will have hot cocoa and coffee for sale. The business also will have musical performances.
