It was a little late for Christmas, but those residing in the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton must have thought they had their own “elf on a shelf” Saturday.

An Andalusia man was dressed as an elf when he was stopped for speeding in Flomaton, and escorted to the detention center on drug charges after officers discovered methamphetamine and synthetic marijuana inside his vehicle.

Cedrick Antwion Marshall, 27, 13174 Hatcher Ave., Andalusia, was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance (meth), unlawful possession of a controlled substance (synthetic marijuana) and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
