The Andalusia Lady Bulldogs fought hard, but fell to the T.R. Miller Lady Tigers 53-41 Wednesday night in the semi-finals of the 18th annual Red Level Christmas tournament at Red Level High School.

Shay Thomas led the Lady Bulldogs with 10 points in the game and Merikal McCaskill finished with 8 points.

“This was the first time we have played since Dec.11, and it’s the first time we have played without our starting point guard,” Andalusia head coach Brad Garner said. “Not to make any excuses, though, but it’s tough trying to replace your starting point guard of two years. I thought we played well with the exception of that stretch in the second period when we lost our composure. It was struggle all night, but I’m glad we are playing these tournament games to give us a little bit of an idea what we need to do to get ready for area play here shortly.”

Andalusia lost their starting point guard, Aaliyah Lawrence, for the year after she suffered a torn ACL.

The Lady Bulldogs will play Pike County today at noon.
