More families will be able to attend Opp’s Rattlesnake Rodeo in 2016.

Opp Mayor John Bartholomew said earlier this week that children 12 and under will be admitted free of charge with a paying adult.

“We want to allow more families to take part,” he said. “This is a family event and we know that a lot of families were not able to bring their children in years past.”

The rodeo is set for April 1 and April 2, at Channell-Lee Stadium.

Friday night’s entertainment will feature John Anderson, Aaron Tippin and Sammy Kershaw.

On Saturday, Christian artist Chris Tomlin, Tim Timmons, Ellie Holcomb and 3for3 will rock the stage.
