The Andalusia Police Department announced Tuesday that they arrested an Andalusia man Sunday night on burglary charges.

Joshua Cole Mitchell, 18, was arrested after trying to elude officers at Winn Dixie. Investigator Chris Byrd spotted Mitchell walking into Winn Dixie Sunday night. Officer Jason Strickland and Sgt. Roger Cender responded to assist. Mitchell was taken into custody and charged with burglary 3rd,  and theft of property 3rd, both felonies.

Mitchell was arrested on Dec 29th for the break-in at the Covington Arena and further investigation led to his arrest Sunday night for the burglary of the concession stand at the Sports Complex next to the Kiwanis Community Center.

The APD continues to investigate other burglaries that have plagued the city over the past few weeks.
