The Andalusia Bulls 9-and-10-year-olds used a strong start and hit a big throw at the end to beat the Elba Tigers 20-18 Tuesday night at the old Andalusia Middle School gym.

Dylan Jackson got the Bulls on the board first when he knocked down a pair of free throws to take a 2-0 lead.

The Bulls’ heavy pressure on defense held the Tigers scoreless in the opening period.

Just before the first period came to a close, Dylan Jackson dropped in a layup to give the Bulls a 4-0 lead at the end of the first period.

In the second period, the Bulls continued their strong efforts, but the Tigers also found life in the period.

Tycameron Jackson got rolling in the second period for the Bulls and dropped in 5 points to give his team a 9-6 lead at halftime.

Both teams continued to scarp it out in the third period, but it was the Bulls who still held the lead heading into the final period.

Tycameron Jackson remained with the hot hand in the third period, as he dropped in another 4 points to give the Bulls a 17-10 lead heading into the fourth.

Dylan Jackson had 2 points in the third period and Brayden Awalt accounted for 2 points.

In final period, Elba made a dash at a comeback attempt, and had a chance to tie or take the lead with just 10 seconds left on the clock.

Elba’s free throws just missed the mark, and Dylan Jackson then knocked down a free throw with 3.5 seconds remaining to give the Bulls a 20-18 victory over Elba.

Awalt was the leading scorer in the final period for the Bulls with 2 points.

Tycameron Jackson led the Bulls in scoring with 9 points in the victory.

Dylan Jackson added 7 points and Awalt finished the night with 4 points to round out the scoring for the Bulls.
