Drug Task Force Agents have charged a woman using marijuana in front of a child.
Drug Task Force Agent Greg Jackson said Wednesday that agents went to a residence off of South Lane in reference to getting a lead on a wanted suspect.
“Agents made contact with Debra Jay, wanted female out of Butler County, and arrested her on a misdemeanor warrant,” he said. “White attempting to find her daughter, who was also wanted out of Butler County, agents made contact with another daughter, Tori Jay, in the back bedroom.”
Jackson said the agent immediately smelled a strong odor of marijuana in the bedroom.
“Agents also noticed a small child lying on the bed,” he said. “Agents saw in plain view a marijuana blunt lying in the same bed that the child was lying in. Due to the odor in the bedroom and the marijuana located, agents charged Tori Jay with chemical endangerment of child, possession of marijuana second degree and possession of drug paraphernalia.”
She was booked into the Covington County Jail on a $260,500 bond.
