An Andalusia man is behind bars after an alleged burglary on Fourth Avenue.

According to APD investigators, a subject walked into an occupied home on Sunday and took a purse containing a large amount of money and fled on foot.

APD investigator Chris Byrd identified the suspect as 25-year-old Demario White of Andalusia.

He was arrested on Monday and charged with burglary second degree and theft of property second degree, both are felonies.

His bond was set at $20,000.
