Andalusia native Debra Church recently landed a modeling opportunity with a worldwide catalog print fashion company.

The company, Ashro, is a described an “afrocentric fashion for women and men,” and is a buy now, pay later company.

Church said the catalog is distributed worldwide and sells hats, elegant dresses, outfits and other style clothing.

“After contacting the art director for a possible modeling assignment, my hard work did indeed pay off,” Church said. “You just have to believe in yourself, and keep pursuing your dreams and goals, and that’s what I did.”

Church said she’s been working with the company since May.

“I’ve always wanted to pursue and achieve in different areas within the modeling industry,” she said.

It has been a dream of hers for at least a decade, she said.

This is Church’s first print catalog job, but said she did stock photography modeling for Getty Images in 2006 in New Orleans.

Church is also an R&B, soul and pop singer and songwriter.

She is a 1994 graduate of Andalusia High School.
