Cancer Freeze organizer: Best year ever

‘There are no words.’
That’s how the 10th annual Cancer Freeze fundraiser was described by co-organizer Jennifer Davidson.
The Davidsons – Caleb and Jennifer – established the event in 2007 in memory of family and friends who passed away from cancer. Proceeds from the day’s events, which included a 5K, water events, an auction and more, will be split among five beneficiaries from the area.
“There are no words to properly thank everyone who gave of their time and talents, who gave financially, physically, emotionally and spiritually to make Cancer Freeze 2016 the absolute best year ever,” Jennifer said. “I am so proud to be from Florala, Ala. Personally, I feel as if God gave us this beautiful lake to use for his glory for days like (Saturday).”
Jennifer said there were people from all over who turned out to help the fundraiser celebrate its 10th year.
“For some it was there first year, for a few of us, we’ve been in attendance for all 10 years,” she said. “It was such a blessing to walk around and see all the different churches, schools, individuals from Covington County, Geneva County, Walton County, Okaloosa County, and many others volunteering their time.”
Jennifer gave kudos to 8-year-old Noah Leonard.
“My hat is off to Mr. Noah for succeeding in not only meeting his $10,000 goal to ‘Shave Dave,’ but passing it,” she said. “Wow is all I can say. We are blessed beyond measure to have so many who have huge hearts for helping others. Thank you just doesn’t seem like enough, but it’s all I can say. God bless you all.”
