The numbers are in.
More than $50,000 was raised at the 10th annual Cancer Freeze event last weekend in Florala.
Funds raised will go to benefit local cancer patients, including:
• The family of Jeffery Biggs, who passed away in late December after complications from liver cancer.
• Brandy Barger, a nurse from Okaloosa County, who is battling stage 4 adenocarcinoma.
• Marie Thames of Elba, who is battling breast cancer.
• Three-year-old Kellen Findley, who is battling stage 3 embroyonal rhabdomyosarcoma.
• Suzanne Grissett, a mother of three from Andalusia, who is battling breast cancer.
Cancer Freeze was established in 2007 in memory of family and friends who passed way from cancer.
Organizers are already planning for next year’s event.
Red Boots will be in concert on March 4, at 6 p.m., at First Baptist Church Florala.
The event is free, but a love offering will be collected.
