A weekend traffic accident landed a Troy man in the Covington County Jail facing multiple charges, according to the Opp Police Department.
OPD Chief Mike McDonald said Thursday that OPD B-shift officers responded to a one-vehicle crash on East Cummings Avenue on Feb. 6, at approximately 3:15 p.m., near O’Reilly Auto Parts.
“Officers determined that the vehicle left the roadway striking a sign, a service pole and a fence,” he said. “Further investigation resulted in the vehicle operator, Jacob Crawey, a 27 year of age male resident of Troy, Ala., being charged with driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.”
Crawley was remanded to the Covington County Jail. The 22nd Judicial Drug Task Force is continuing the investigation.
