Local adults aged 50 and over are invited to attend Thursday’s Skill Ability Day.

Organizer Wanda Sasser-Scroggins said the event will be held from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., at the County Administration Building.

“The meeting is free,” she said. “A lunch will be catered by David’s Catfish and is $8 per person for the meal.”

Scroggins said activities will include a demonstration by the county’s Kevin Kennedy, who will show how electronic voting machines work.

“Practice before the election day,” Scroggins said. “Every precinct has one available. It’s an easy way to cast your vote without the worry of incorrect markings.”

Scroggins said members of the board of registrars will also be available.

She said participants will get a look at the sample ballot.

Additionally, workshops will be available for voiceover features using Apple products; registration for free audible books for home delivery; organization tips and tricks for clothing, food, medicine, and home or work areas.
