Six wooden bridges on county roads in the Conecuh National Forest will soon be replaced, thanks to a $770,000 grant Covington County received from the Eastern Federal Lands Access Program.

County Engineer Darren Capps said the wooden bridges will be replaced with precast bridges over a four-year period.

The county’s matching portion of the grant will be in providing labor and equipment.
