Willodeyne

Johnson

Willodeyne Johnson, 92, a native of the Dixie Community and a resident of Mobile since 1945, died Fri., Feb. 26.

Her parents, Jessie James Sasser and Margaret Fuqua Sasser Harrelson, and her husband, Willie Morgan Johnson, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her sons, William (Billy) J. Johnson (Karen L. Connerton) and Larry M. Johnson (Sherry); her grandchildren, Bryan (Jamie Nonnenmacher) Johnson, Brad (Reneese) Johnson, and Brooks Johnson; and her great-grandchildren, Tyler and Lexie Johnson, Asher Johnson, Cliff Johnson and Ashley Johnson Harvill.

A chapel services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wed., March 2, from the Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, followed by a committal service at the grave site.

 

Al Hayse

Mr. Al Hayse, age 81, of Gantt passed away peacefully at his home on Thurs., Feb. 25, 2016. He went home to be with his Lord and his beautiful wife, Ruth Hayse, who preceded him in death in 2013.

Mr. Hayse served four years in the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean War. He served many law enforcement agencies to include the Marion County Sheriff’s Department, Crenshaw County Sheriff’s Department and most recently with the Covington County Sheriff’s Department. He also served as the Gantt police chief for many years. One of his most enjoyable achievements was getting to work for eight years as the Straughn school resource officer; it was an honor to him to serve as mentor to young adults. Mr. Hayse was a 50-year member of the Gantt Masonic Lodge and a member of the American Legion.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sun., Feb. 28, 2016, in the Keahey Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. John Eiland officiating. Burial will follow in the Stone Lake Gardens cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service in the chapel.

Survivors include his sons, Mike (Julie) Hayse of Andalusia, and Mark (Regina) Hayse of Ft. Walton; daughters, Pam Greenwood of Gantt, and Patty (Ed) Carlson of Pensacola; and a sister, Becky Hayse of Texas; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

 

Vivian Virginia Brackin

Mrs. Vivian Virginia Brackin, age 75, of Andalusia passed away Wed., Feb. 24, 2016, at the Southeast Alabama Medical center.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m., Mon., Feb. 29, 2016, in the Stone Lake Gardens cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends starting at 10 a.m., in the Keahey Funeral Home chapel until time to go to the graveside.

Survivors include her daughter, Lori Seaney of Andalusia;

brother, Frashier Rains of Montgomery; sisters, Melda Wilson of Loxley, Edna Wall of Illinois, and Connie Kihano of Foley; and grandchildren, April Bazzell, George Brashier, Duane Seaney, Steven Seaney and Rubert Seaney,
