Russell McGlamory has been named interim fire chief, Mayor Earl Johnson said Tuesday.

“We think that will be turned into a permanent position very soon,” he said.

McGlamory has 29 years experience with the fire department. Retiring Chief Ethan Dorsey said McGlamory has been his “right-hand man.”
