Mary Alice Johnson
Mary Alice Johnson, age 94, formerly of Foley, died March 5, 2016, at Heritage Health Care. Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Tues., March 8, 2016, at Pleasant Home Baptist Church Cemetery in Andalusia, Ala., with her grandson, Thomas Whitten, officiating and Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation was Monday at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ausborn Davis Johnson.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Diane Palmer; sons, James Marion Johnson, Sr. and Don Larry Johnson; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Harold Thomas Lipps
Mr. Harold Thomas Lipps, age 84, of Andalusia passed away at his residence on March 4, 2016. He was originally of Leesburg, Fla., and moved to Andalusia in 1991.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tues., March 8, at Church of God Church on Brooklyn Road. Brother Glen Vaughn will officiate the service.
Mr. Lipps is survived by daughter, Gloria Lipps of Andalusia; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Judy Lipps of Martin, S.C.; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Buddy and Glenda Lipps of Wildwood, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Tina Lipps of Coleman, Fla.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Nancy Lipps; wife, Margaret Lipps; son, Thomas Lipps; brother, Allen Lupps, Jr.; and sister, Lois.

Alice Powell Walters
Mrs. Alice Powell Walters, 85, of Andalusia, passed away Sat., March 5, 2016, at her residence.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Mon., March 7, at Pressly Memorial Presbyterian Church with Brother P. J. McClung officiating. Interment followed in Fairmount Cemetery. Visitation was on Sunday at Foreman Funeral Home.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Anita Patterson, Jimmy Patterson, Mark and Shena Patterson, Leslie and Sheri Walters; a daughter, Rebecca Wojtowicz; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Margaret Bass and Ruth Nation.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James E. Walters; mother, Georgia White; father, James Arthur Powell; two sisters, Mary Estelle Wall and Clara Mae Powell; a brother, James Marcus Powell; and her son, David Arthur Patterson.
Pallbearers were Calabe Varner, Mike Patterson, Caylon Odom, Gary Lambert, Tony Cofield, and Andy Coleman.
Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Varner, James David Veara, and Matthew Starnes.
