The Andalusia Board of Education accepted two retirement resignations Monday.

Susan Cravey, AES third grade teacher, and Donna Cauley, AHS guidance counselor, are both retiring effective April 1.

Superintendent Ted Watson said Cravey will continue to work through the end of the school year as a substitute teacher.

The board also:

• was told that it earned $10,294 in rebate funds for using a Regions Bank credit card for purchases. That was a significant increase over the previous year, when the system only earned $871.

• learned that bids for new AHS band uniforms are being let today, Tues., March 15. Bid opening should occur during spring break.

• amended textbook committee appointments to add Annie Howell to the AES committee and Jane Barr to the AHS committee.

• Set its next meeting for 5:30 p.m. on April 19.
