A local girl whose bicycle had been stolen got the surprise of her life Monday.

“My daughter’s bike was stolen,” said Amanda Bulger. “I had put a post up and tried to get it back with no luck. Casey was sick today. So, I took her to the doctor. When I got home, I checked the mail and found a letter with her name on it.”

Amanda said she wasn’t paying attention to who the letter was from because she thought it was junk mail.

“I gave it to her like normal for her to open,” she said. “I heard her scream and say, ‘Mom, look.’ I looked at the envelope and that’s where I paid attention to the return address.”

The return address just said “Santa Headquarters North Pole.”

Amanda said that Casey was so happy.

“She said she didn’t know Santa worked all year,” Amanda said. “She is a good-hearted kid. Always thinking of someone else. I don’t know who did it, but a big thanks. She was so excited she called her dad and is waiting for him to get home so we can go as a family to pick out a bike. The card is for $100.. Her bike was given to her from Santa and she was crushed that it was taken from her.”
