Covington County County Relay for Life is next month, and organizers are one team shy of its goal of 20.

“We have 19 teams total,” said Randi Bozeman, publications/team ambassador, said. “Which is great!”

The Relay for Life softball tournament is today at the sports complex.

“We have 10 teams and the tournament starts at 9:30 a.m., and will end around 6:30 p.m.,” she said.

Bank night will be April 19, at CCB at 5:30 p.m.

There’s not another team meeting before the April 22 event, which will be held at the Kiwanis Fairgrounds.

This year’s theme is Festivals Around the World, and the fundraising goal is $100,000.

Those making preparations for the event should know the festivities kick off at 6 p.m.

“Anyone is welcome to come out and enjoy the festivities,” Bozeman said. “We will have concessions and some teams will also be selling food for fundraising. Usually a lot of teams will have auction items for sale as well. Survivors are welcome as well, and they need to arrive around 5 p.m., for bingo and dinner.”
