Eight teams signed up to participate in the first Relay For Life softball tournament put on by the City of Andalusia.

“This was the first softball tournament that the City’s Administration department has hosted and we are very pleased that it went so well,” City of Andalusia Administrative Assistant Stephanie Moceri said. “All the teams played hard and had good sportsmanship. We just want to thank all of those teams for joining us and helping make it a success.”

The times arrived early in the morning and played their way through bracket play until a champion emerged.

Fam Jam took home first place after knocking off the Ball Busters in the championship game.

“The City of Andalusia has held two Relay for Life events thus far,” Moceri said. “With those two events we have raised more than $2,200 than from our combined fundraisers from last year.”
