Veston Horace Bailey
Mr. Veston Horace Bailey, age 81, of Andalusia passed away at his residence on March 23, 2016.
A visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Sat., March 26, at Foreman Funeral Home.
Mr. Bailey served several years in the U.S. Army. Upon his honorable discharge he went to work at the AlaTex where he worked until its closing around 1995. While working at the AlaTex he attended Troy State and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in social rehabilitation services. He and his wife successfully owned and operated the Sanford Flea Market from the mid-70s to the late 1990s. He later started work with the State of Alabama Department of Human Resources, where he ultimately retired.
Mr. Bailey is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Jerry Archie of Daphne, Ala; sons and daughters-in-law, Perry and Wendy Bailey of Andalusia and Branton and Ashleigh Bailey of Elberta, Ala.; grandchildren, Tucker Bailey, Benjamin Bailey, Caroline Bailey, Campbell Bailey, Morgan Archie, Melissa Dorman, Sandra Overman, Jeremy Archie, Terry Archie, and Brandon Bailey; one great-grandchild, Presleigh Klaire Dorman; sister-in-law, Ada Bailey of Daphne; a number of nieces and nephews; and his beloved pet, Patty.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Donie Bailey; wife, Jeanette Bailey; brothers, Clanton “C.W.” Bailey and Austin Bailey; and sisters, Velma Ham and Ocie Mae Bailey.
