County music fans whose opportunity to hear John Anderson and Aaron Tippin was rained out Friday night weren’t the only ones in a bad mood.

Sammy Kershaw performed in the rain before Friday night’s events were cancelled by a thunderstorm. His mood was as foul as the weather when he left Opp, because, among other things, his boots were wet.

Kershaw posted several negative comments on social media, prompting the Country Music Association to apologize to Rodeo organizers.

Opp Mayor John Bartholomew said Monday night, “Sometimes artists get a little temperamental. Our booking agent took some unnecessary hits.”
