The people of the Loango community now have a place to shop with a little bit of “southern hospitality,” according to owners Phillip and Jennifer Anderson.
In April the couple opened up the Loango Quick Stop, in a building with decades of history in the community, as a full service convenience store and deli. Mrs. Anderson said that she’s been in public service her entire life.
“Me and my husband just decided this is something we wanted. Public service is something we enjoy along with meeting new people,” she said.
The Andersons said they feel their store isn’t the usual convenience store.
“This isn’t just another one of those stores where you just stand in line. We greet everyone with southern hospitality,” Mrs. Anderson said of the Quick Stop’s southern charm. “The store here has been closed down for over 10 years and the community needed something here,” she said of the Loango community.
The menu includes breakfast biscuits, pizza, barbecue sandwiches, hamburgers, chicken tenders, hotdogs.
The Loango Quick Stop is open Monday through Thursday from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday 6 a.m. until 11 p.m., and 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday. The phone number is 334-208-6822.
