Coach Sarah Patterson will be the speaker at the Covington County Chapter of the University of Alabama National Alumni Associations’ scholarship banquet.

The event is set for Mon., April 25, with social hour at 5:45 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m.

Patterson was the head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide women’s gymnastics team from 1979 to 2014. During her tenure, she built the program at the University of Alabama into one of the most successful in the history of college gymnastics. Under her leadership, UA won six NCAA women’s gymnastics championships (1988, 1991, 1996, 2002, 2011, and 2012), and seven SEC titles.
