Crossover Ministry nearly hit its $30,000 goal at its Tuesday night appreciation banquet.
Director Todd Sasser said that he thought the banquet went really well.
“I was getting a little nervous because we weren’t selling that many tickets,” he said. “But we still had about 260 people at the banquet and with the clients we were closer to 280. It was a good turnout.”
Sasser said Wednesday totals had the funds raised through ticket sales and a love offering at between $27,000 and $28,000.
“I thought Jeremiah did a great job,” he said of speaker University of Alabama Chaplain Jeremiah Castille, a former All-American football player. “I was real, real pleased with the message.”
Sasser said the ministry does have other needs, such as a new disc for its tractor to help in the Crossover garden, which is another means of helping fund the ministry.
“We can also use everyday things such as sugar and tea and coffee and creamer and toilet paper,” he said. It costs $30,000 per month to run the faith-based addiction recovery ministry for men and women.
