Will your dog be “Best in Show”?

The Andalusia Area Humane Society “Be Kind to Animals” Dog Show is set for Sat., April 23, at the AAHS building on 411 Pearl Street from 10 a.m. to noon.

“This pet-friendly, family event is a celebration of Be Kind to Animals week with 100 percent of proceeds to benefit ‘at risk’ pets in Covington County,” said Debra Evans.

Evans said a panel of judges will award first, second, and third place ribbons for: Best Dog Costume, Best Trick, Best Treat Catcher, Waggiest Tail, and ‘Best in Show’.

Event registration is $15 and all participants receive certificates and goodie bags. Registration fee includes all categories.

To participate, dogs must be kept on a leash, and no dogs in heat may be involved. Dogs must have all immunizations required by law.

Through the Andalusia Area Humane Society, a low-cost spay and neuter program is offered to low income families and those adopting strays through affiliated programs with local vets.
