River Falls Police are searching for a person who shot multiple times at a nightclub over the weekend.
Police Chief Greg Jackson said the incident took place Saturday at The Night Spot.
“A bunch of people were fighting,” he said. “And a person took out a gun and shot three or four times.”
Jackson said the department was still trying to figure out who shot in the air.
“I think I know who did it,” he said. “But right now, we are still investigating.”
“Nobody was injured,” he said. “This place has no liquor license. People just rent it out for parties and they bring their own alcohol.”
Owner Douglas Staley said he’s owned the property for 30 or 40 years.
“It’s my understanding it was a guy from Opp and a guy from Andalusia,” he said.
Staley said he doesn’t understand why it’s taking so long to make an arrest, but he’s more concerned with the actions and attitudes of those renting his place.
“The parties out at my place,” he said. “The shooting and the fighting has to stop. We as people can’t sit back and let these young boys take over. They can’t take over the whole place with guns. I’m hoping the police department will help with that. I don’t care if it’s black boys or white boys. It has to stop.”
He said there was a cutting at the place a few years ago.
Jackson called the club a problem spot.
Jackson said that anyone who wants to come forward with any information may call 222-3510.
